Wireless Digital Subscriber Line (WDSL)

WDSL is an SDSL type service delivered by the latest wireless technologies. Effectively we create a very large wireless lan, similar to what you would deploy at home, or in the office.

Here at Elancs.net we have deployed the very latest 802.11N network, allowing a theoretical throughput of up to 300 mbps symetrically, up and down. This is with the UDP protocol.

In practice and outside the lab, and using TCP/IP at a distance of 50 km/30 miles 90 mbps fully symmetric has been achieved. This is dependant upon actual topography of the environment and a clear line of sight is essential between the two points. Compare this to ADSL, where you are lucky to get 2mb down and 128k up and If your more than 5km from an exchange, you will probably be restricted to dialup.

How does it work

Our Service is delivered by a 5.8Ghz Secure Wireless Network, all Networks within this part of the spectrum, have to be registered with OFCOM. To receive our service, you need to have a small antenna fixed to the roof of your property, which is then installed like a small TV aerial.

If you property is suitable to act as a node, or relay station, then we can offer you a discount on our normal price structure.

Our pricing is  clear and transparent, while you continue to subscribe to our service, we will loan to you free of charge the antenna, should you terminate the service, we will invoice you for the cost of the antenna, unless it is returned to us.

There is a small charge for installation and monthly charge based upon the service plan you select
